The US State Department has approved a possible deal with Morocco for the supply of missiles for the Stinger man-portable air defense system (MANPADS) in the amount of $825 million. This follows from the official statement of the military department, published on the website of the Agency for Security Cooperation of the United States Department of Defense on Tuesday, April 15.

"The State Department has decided to approve the possible sale to the Kingdom of Morocco of FIM-92K Stinger Block I missiles for foreign military purposes and related equipment for a total amount of about $825 million," the publication says.

The deal includes engineering services from the U.S. government and contractors, logistics, and technical support.

As stated in the statement, the potential sale will strengthen the foreign policy of the United States and enhance the security of Morocco.

Earlier, on March 26, it was reported that the US State Department approved a possible deal to sell drones and related systems and ammunition to Qatar for a total of $1.96 billion.
