Nutritionist, PhD Andrey Bobrovsky said that semi-finished products contain a lethal dose of salt.

In an interview with Radio 1 on Tuesday, April 15, the specialist explained that the most dangerous thing in salt is the presence of sodium, which is a harmful component and causes adverse effects on the body.

"Ordinary white salt is sodium and chlorine, and in dietary salt (Himalayan pink, iodized, stone, table salt), sodium in the composition is replaced with potassium — this is the difference," the expert explained.

Bobrovsky pointed out that salt consumption rates are regularly decreasing. They vary depending on the country, but in general it is from 5 to 2 g of salt per day. He warned that a person gets the most salt from semi-finished products, not salt shakers, it may not be felt, but it is present there.

Also on April 15, doctor Alexander Umnov warned that a store-bought barbecue could cause the development of stomach ulcers, pancreatitis and kidney failure. He pointed out that the marinade may contain large amounts of salt, vinegar and chemical compounds to mask the spoiled meat, notes 360.ru .

On April 7, nutritionist Mariyat Mukhina, in an interview with NSN, said that salt dependence of the so-called "food addicts" can be compared with alcoholism. She also suggested banning salt and sugar on airplanes to avoid over-salting food. According to her, hypertension is more common in people with a reduced salt sensitivity threshold.

Earlier, Mukhina called trans fats and salt in foods the main destroyers of blood vessels. The doctor explained that trans fats are harmful because they are not processed by the body in any way, increasing the level of bad cholesterol. They are found in fast food, chips, popcorn, and are also often added to chocolate, cookies, and baked goods.
