Rostechnadzor launched an investigation after a mine collapse in the Rostov region

The Federal Service for Environmental, Technological and Nuclear Supervision has launched an investigation into a rock collapse at the Sadkinskaya mine, located in the Belokalitvinsky district of the Rostov region. Rostechnadzor announced this on Tuesday, April 15.

"The North Caucasus Department of Rostechnadzor has formed a commission for the technical investigation of the causes of the accident at the Sadkinskoye Mine Management LLC," the department said in a Telegram post.

They added that the condition of the two miners still under the rubble is unknown.

The collapse at the coal mine occurred earlier in the day. At the time of the collapse, there were about 75 workers in the mine. They were brought to the surface. Mountain rescuers are working to evacuate two workers who remained under the rubble.
