Russian synchronized swimmers Maya Doroshko and Tatiana Gaidai returned to Moscow after winning the World Cup in Egypt. They shared their emotions with Izvestia on Tuesday, April 15.

The athletes were greeted at the airport with Russian flags, chants, as well as a loaf and music.

"There is high competition, the Spanish national team began to make very interesting compositions, it stands out in terms of artistry," Gaidai said.

Representatives of the Russian Federation beat Ukrainian competitors Daria Moshinskaya and Anastasia Shmonina during the starts. The third place was taken by athletes from Canada Audrey Lamothe and Jimena Ortiz Montano.

It is noted that participation in the international launch has become an important stage in preparation for the next major competitions.

On April 12, Doroshko and Gaidai won the duet competition in the technical program at the second stage of the World Cup in Egypt. In addition, another Russian couple, 18—year-old Anastasia Sidorina and Veronika Sokolova, rounded out the top ten.
