When resolving the issue of gas supplies to the unrecognized Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (PMR), it is necessary to take into account the interests of the people and refrain from politicization. This was stated on April 15 by Russian Ambassador to Moldova Oleg Ozerov in an interview with the Moldovan TV channel Canal 5.

"We believe that in the future these issues will be resolved on this basis [without politicization, based on the interests of the people]. And life shows that a solution can be found. Especially if we talk about the Moldovan side," the politician said.

He noted that the Moldovan side itself is interested in receiving electricity from the Moldovan GRES in Transnistria.

Earlier, on April 7, gas supplies to Transnistria were suspended for several days due to technical reasons.

On March 5, deputies of the Parliament of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (PMR) approved a decree extending the state of emergency until April 9, inclusive, and later it was extended again until May 9. As the parliamentarians noted, the situation with gas supplies to the republic is tense, as the volume of natural fuel supplies does not ensure the full operation of industrial enterprises.
