The Nagatinsky court of Moscow sentenced four journalists to 5.5 years in a penal colony in the case of cooperation with FBK (included by the Ministry of Justice in the register of organizations performing the functions of a foreign agent, recognized as an extremist organization and banned in Russia). This was announced on April 15 by a source of Izvestia in court.

In the dock are Sota Vision journalists (recognized in the Russian Federation as a foreign agent and an undesirable organization) Artyom Krieger and Antonina Favorskaya (Kravtsova), Konstantin Gabov, a producer at the Reuters news agency, and Sergey Karelin, a video journalist who worked with the Associated Press. It is noted that they took part in the preparation of photo and video materials for FBK.

At the same time, the prosecutor requested that they be sentenced to 5 years and 11 months in prison.

On April 3, a source from Izvestia reported on the detention of Leonid Volkov's father (recognized in the Russian Federation as a foreign agent, included in the list of terrorists and extremists) Mikhail was detained on suspicion of financing an extremist organization.

On June 9, 2021, the Moscow City Court recognized the FBK non-profit organization as extremist. Its activities are prohibited on the territory of the Russian Federation.
