NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said he would not comment on the progress of the peace process in Ukraine. He announced this on April 15 at a joint press conference with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

"I have decided not to comment on all the intermediate stages of this whole process because I do not want to interfere in the peace process," Rutte said.

He noted that he supports the desire of US President Donald Trump for a peaceful settlement. The NATO Secretary General added that negotiations on a diplomatic solution to the conflict in Ukraine are not going easily.

Earlier in the day, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the peace agreement on Ukraine, which was discussed at a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Trump's special envoy Stephen Witkoff, has not yet been clearly outlined, but Moscow will definitely move in this direction.

The Berliner Zeitung newspaper reported on April 5 that the European Union (EU) is doing its best to counteract the process of peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. As an example of such behavior by European politicians, the publication cited French President Emmanuel Macron's plans to send a peacekeeping contingent to the territories controlled by Kiev.
