Hutsul pointed to the transformation of justice by Sandu into an instrument of violence

Moldovan President Maia Sandu and her party have turned justice into an instrument of political violence against the opposition. This was announced on April 15 by the head of the Gagauz Autonomy, Evgenia Gutsul, in the Telegram channel.

She stressed that the Chisinau Court of Appeal had again refused to satisfy the prosecutors' request for her placement in a pre-trial detention center. According to her, this decision proves that all criminal cases against her are fabricated.

"Today, the justice system in Moldova has been turned into an instrument of political violence by the PAS against dissenters. Their goal is to prevent me from fulfilling the Bashkan's mandate, which thousands of Gagauzians have entrusted to me. But I won't give up," she wrote.

On the same day, the chairman of the People's Assembly (Parliament) of Gagauzia, Dmitry Konstantinov, stated that Moldova's goal was to destroy Gagauzia's autonomy.

On April 14, the Constitutional Court of Moldova deprived Gagauzia of the authority to appoint an autonomous prosecutor. The head of the court, Domnica Manole, said that the decision is final and begins to take effect from the moment it is published in the Official Monitor. The leader of the Victory bloc, Ilan Shor, in turn, called the decision an encroachment on the status of autonomy.

The head of the autonomy, Eugenia Gutsul, called on the Moldovan opposition to join forces in the struggle for the autonomous status of the region. According to her, the decision of the Constitutional Court was a step not only towards the liquidation of Gagauzia, but also towards the establishment of full control of the Action and Solidarity party over justice in Moldova.
