- Lavrov pointed to the contribution of Latin American countries to the Victory over Nazism.

The victory over Nazism in World War II was made possible, among other things, thanks to the contribution of Latin American and Caribbean countries. This was announced on April 15 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at the opening of the Jubilee Year complex exhibition: From Mexico to Argentina.
"The exhibition features a separate stand dedicated to the contribution of Latin American and Caribbean States to the defeat of Nazism," he said.
Lavrov recalled that the Brazilian expeditionary force fought with German and Italian troops. The Mexican "Aztec Eagles" fought in the Pacific "theater of military operations against Japan" in 1945. In addition, citizens of Latin American countries provided assistance within the framework of the solidarity movement with the Soviet Union.
"I would like to once again express my gratitude to our Latin American friends for their position in solidarity with us on multilateral platforms when considering initiatives on the inadmissibility of glorifying Nazism and falsifying history, on the inadmissibility of revising the results of the Second World War and the results of the Great Victory," Lavrov stressed.
During the opening of the exhibition, the Russian Foreign Minister also pointed out the enormous potential of Russian-Latin American relations. In his opinion, they are "developing on a pragmatic and mutually beneficial de-ideologized basis." Russia is ready to expand these contacts, Lavrov said.
Earlier, on April 15, Deputy Mayor of Moscow Natalia Sergunina announced the opening of over 50 exhibitions dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War in Moscow. The expositions will highlight the courage and steadfastness of the defenders of the country. Residents and guests of the Russian capital will be presented with paintings, sculptures, war letters, postcards, archival photographs and other materials.
