Holy Fire will be delivered to Moscow on April 19

On April 19, a delegation from the St. Andrew the First-Called Foundation will deliver the Holy Fire from Jerusalem to Moscow. This was announced on the foundation's website on April 15.

"On Holy Saturday, April 19, 2025, according to tradition, the Holy Fire will be delivered to Moscow from Jerusalem by the St. Andrew the First-Called Foundation. The arrival of the delegation <...> is expected at 23:00," the message says.

It is specified that the Holy Fire will be delivered to the cities of the border regions of Russia, namely: Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, as well as dozens of others. In the capital, it will be available in 15 churches and cathedrals.

In 2025, Orthodox Christians will witness the descent of the Holy Fire on April 19.

Easter is established in honor of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, which is the center of the entire biblical history and the basis of all Christian teaching. This is a transitional holiday, and in 2025, Orthodox believers and Catholics will celebrate it on the same day — April 20.
