- The Prosecutor General's Office asked the UAE to seize five apartments of the ex-traffic police inspector in Dubai

The Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation has sent a request to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the seizure of real estate located in Dubai by a former traffic police inspector from Moscow. This was announced on April 15 by Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov during a meeting with Humaid Obaid Abushibs, President of the UAE Accountability Office.
He clarified that the former traffic police officer owns five apartments in the UAE worth over 3 million dirhams (more than 67 million rubles). The Prosecutor General's Office sent a request for the seizure of property at the beginning of this year.
"Taking this opportunity, I would like to ask you, dear Mr. Abushibs, if possible, to take this request under control," Krasnov quotes the Telegram channel of the department.
In July 2022, the Prosecutor General's Office demanded that the Lefortovo District Court of Moscow seize illegally acquired property worth 130 million rubles from former traffic police inspector Sergei Kuznetsov. During his service, he acquired and registered 23 real estate properties in his own and his family, seven of which are located in the UAE and Bulgaria, as well as a car. At the same time, the former inspector has no information about the legality of the sources through which the property was acquired.
In December of the same year, Kuznetsov's property worth over 129 million rubles and cash in the amount of more than 50 million rubles were turned into state revenue.
Krasnov arrived in Abu Dhabi on a working visit on April 14, 2025. In addition to meetings with heads of competent authorities and representatives of the country's leadership, a number of bilateral documents are planned to be signed during the trip.
