The United States will not join the G7 statement condemning the missile strike by the Russian army at the venue of the meeting of the Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in Sumy. This was reported by Bloomberg on April 15.

"The United States disrupted the adoption of the G7 joint statement condemning the Russian missile strike in Sumy," the publication says.

According to the agency, the administration of US President Donald Trump decided not to support the joint statement in order to preserve the opportunity for peace talks and continue efforts to resolve the conflict with Russia.

Canada, representing the G7, in turn, noted that it is impossible to promote this statement without American support.

On April 13, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that two Iskander missiles had been fired at the venue of a meeting of the Ukrainian Armed Forces command in Sumy. As a result of the successful defeat of the target, over 60 soldiers of the Ukrainian army were eliminated. The ministry noted that the Kiev regime continues to use civilians as human shields, deploying military installations and holding meetings with military personnel in the center of a densely populated city.
