- Krasnov noted the importance of consultations between the Russian Federation and the UAE on the issue of legal assistance.

Russia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) need consultations to resolve the contradictions arising from differences in the provisions of the treaties on legal assistance and extradition between the two countries. This was announced on April 15 by Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov during a meeting with UAE Minister of Justice Abdullah bin Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi in Abu Dhabi.
"For a number of years, there has been a certain difficulty in interpreting the provisions of the treaties between our countries on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters and extradition. As a result, he refuses to fulfill certain requests," the website of the Prosecutor General's Office quoted him as saying.
Krasnov suggested holding the first consultation in June this year in Russia and continuing to hold them on a regular basis. He added that such meetings will help ensure a rapid exchange of information, which will lead to efficiency in the fight against crime.
In addition, the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation expressed the hope that the countries will continue to develop the partnership of prosecutorial services within a number of international organizations, including Interpol, UN structures, BRICS and the Group of Twenty.
Krasnov arrived in Abu Dhabi on a working visit on April 14. In addition to meetings with heads of competent authorities and representatives of the country's leadership, a number of bilateral documents are planned to be signed during the trip.
