The document will strengthen cooperation between the parties, create mutually recognized Halal accreditation and certification systems to simplify trade and eliminate technical barriers. In addition, it is planned to train Russian specialists and experts on accreditation, as well as exchange experiences and best practices.
"The memorandum will become the basis for further cooperation on the recognition of the accreditation of Russian halal certification bodies and the reduction of trade barriers between our countries," Skrypnik stressed.
The service added that for Russian exporters of such products, cooperation between accreditation authorities and regulators in the field of halal will reduce financial costs and expand export opportunities, simplify product launch in Indonesia and Southeast Asia.
Earlier, Russian Ambassador to Singapore Nikolai Kudashev told Izvestia that the Russian and Singaporean sides are working on the admission of meat products from the Russian Federation to the Singapore market, including mutual recognition of certificates for halal products. He also called the food supply a promising direction, because 95% of the food consumed in this country is imported.
