Former Judas Priest rock band drummer Les Binks has died at the age of 73.


Drummer Les Binks from Northern Ireland, known for his performances in the rock band Judas Priest, has died at the age of 74. On April 15, the musical group announced this on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
"We are deeply saddened by the passing of Les and send our love to his family, friends and fans. <...> Thank you, Les, your glory will live on," the publication says.
The report clarified that the musician became famous for his first-class drumming skills, noting that he possessed unique technique, talent, style and precision.
Binks was born in Portdown in Northern Ireland in 1951. He played in the Judas Priest band in 1977-1979 and recorded two albums with the band. Together with him, the band conducted their first American tour in 1977.
After that, in 1981-1982, the drummer played as a member of Lionheart. He also collaborated with the bass guitarist from the rock band Deep Purple, Roger Glover, on the recording of his solo album in 1974.
In 2022, Binks was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and performed three of the band's songs with Judas Priest at a ceremony held in Los Angeles.
