Russians named common bad financial habits


Half of the Russians surveyed (51%) positively assessed their knowledge and skills in the field of personal finance. The rest (49%) admitted to having various problems related to a low level of financial literacy. This is stated in the results of the Renaissance Insurance Group survey, which was reviewed by Izvestia on April 16.
The most common bad financial habit has become the inability to accumulate savings. Almost every second respondent who admitted to having problems with literacy has it (48%). However, one in three often makes impulsive and useless purchases. Almost a quarter (23%) are unable to manage the family budget. One fifth of financially illiterate Russians (22%) noted that they are not even sure about standard ways of investing money, for example, such as a bank deposit.
"For every third respondent, the lack of necessary knowledge and skills at least once resulted in financial losses. Of these, one in six (16%) He loses money regularly, and 32% — periodically, for 19% it was a one-time loss. Most often, such respondents lost money due to late payment of loan fees (46%), 41% overpaid for goods, and almost a quarter (24%) made unprofitable deposits," the experts noted.
At the same time, for 39% of respondents who faced financial losses, ignorance of the basics of literacy cost a maximum of 10-50 thousand rubles, for 13% — 100-500 thousand rubles, for 14% — from 500 thousand to 1 million rubles.
At the same time, one in four (24%) Russians is confident in their financial skills and has no plans to change anything.
