Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will attend the Victory Day Parade in Moscow on May 9. This was stated on April 15 by Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic Alen Simonyan.

"We had 300,000 dead, so many people did not return. Not to mention that there were Armenians in the resistance movement too. This is one of the days that we are proud of," Sputnik Armenia quoted him as saying.

According to Simonyan, Pashinyan's visit should not provoke a reaction from the European Union (EU).

It is specified that the agreement on the arrival of the Armenian prime Minister in Moscow was reached during his telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

On April 11, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced that Russia expects all the leaders of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries to take part in the Victory Day Parade in Moscow on May 9.

He stressed that at the meeting of the Council of CIS Foreign Ministers in Alma Ata, all ministers emphasized the special importance of events dedicated to the celebration of the 80th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War (WWII).
