In the Ivanovo region, two officials were detained in a case of receiving bribes.

In the Ivanovo region, Dmitry Vavrinchuk, a member of the regional government and director of the Department of Road Management and Transport, and his first deputy were detained on suspicion of bribing more than 50 million rubles. This was announced by the regional prosecutor's office on April 15.

Criminal cases have been initiated under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receiving a particularly large bribe"). According to investigators, both defendants received bribes from a representative of commercial organizations, due to which they created favorable conditions for her when concluding and executing state contracts for the repair and maintenance of roads.

"The total amount of illegal remuneration exceeded 50 million rubles. The suspects have been detained, and the issue of choosing a preventive measure in the form of detention is being resolved," the department's Telegram channel says.

On April 15, the district court arrested the former deputy governor of the Bryansk region, Sergei Timoshenko, in a case of a particularly large bribe. He is in custody until May 13. The ex-deputy governor is accused of committing two crimes under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receiving a bribe on an especially large scale").
