Electric "Muscovites" will be sent to Cuba to work in a taxi

A taxi company based on Russian Moskvich cars will open in the Cuban capital in 2025. The Moscow Department of Transport announced this on April 15 in its Telegram channel.

25 Moskvich 3 crossovers and the same number of Moskvich 3e electric vehicles will be sent to Havana. The taxi company will be operated by a joint Russian-Cuban company.

Maxim Liksutov, Moscow's Deputy Mayor for Transport, said that a memorandum of intent on establishing a taxi company based on Moskvich cars in the republic was signed with the Cuban side last year. We are ready to start implementing the project in 2025.

"In addition to 50 Moskvichs, we will also supply spare parts and organize training for Cuban specialists at the Moskvich MAZ plant. This will help the continuous operation of the taxi company," Liksutov said.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that the Moskvich automobile plant is preparing to start production of the Moskvich 8 crossover. It will become the fourth model of the revived brand, the announcement of the release of the model to the market took place a year ago, in April 2024. Initially, production and sales launch were planned before the end of that year.
