Sobyanin spoke about the city's support for the taxi industry

Since 2012, when the city began to provide financial support to taxi companies, part of the cost of buying 92,000 cars has been compensated, said Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.
"The total amount of subsidies is 2.49 billion rubles. The subsidy is issued only for cars with environmental class 5 and 6 and for electric vehicles manufactured in Moscow, with an increasing coefficient of 2.5 for them," he said.
According to the mayor, almost 200 thousand taxi cars are operating in Moscow and the region today. The park has grown by 15% in a year. The average age of the car is 3.2 years. Moscow has one of the youngest taxi companies in Europe, Sobyanin said. By 2030, about half of the fleet will be electric vehicles.
Last year, more than 632 million people used taxis, and the daily passenger traffic was 1.73 million, which is a record figure, the mayor of Moscow emphasized.
He also noted that in 15 years, the taxi transportation market has been fully legalized. Taxi driver certification has been in effect in Moscow since last year, and it has become mandatory since March 1 of this year. In addition, in 2023, taxi ordering services under the new law began to be responsible to passengers.
