There have been 227 road accidents in Russia over the past 24 hours.

Over the past day, 227 road accidents have occurred on Russian roads, in which 14 people were killed and 263 injured. Seven of the dead were passengers and drivers of vehicles. This was reported to Izvestia on April 15 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
As a result of 72 accidents, 28 of which occurred at pedestrian crossings and 44 outside their area of operation, seven pedestrians were killed, and 67 more were injured in various degrees of severity. Among the injured were 28 child pedestrians, 12 of whom were injured at pedestrian crossings. 13 accidents involving buses were recorded, in which there were no fatalities, but 16 road users needed medical attention. Six bus accidents were caused by traffic violations committed by their drivers.
On Monday, 43 accidents involving minors were registered, as a result of which 49 young road users were injured, including 13 child passengers, a cyclist and four motor transport drivers under the age of 16. There are no dead children.
The State Traffic Inspectorate urged motorists to comply with traffic regulations and be more careful on the roads of towns and cities. Special care should be taken when approaching pedestrian crossings, slowing down in front of them until they come to a complete stop in order to allow pedestrians to pass. The behavior of children on the road is often unpredictable, so you should not rush to resume traffic, even at a clear traffic light.
Temporary closures or traffic restrictions are continuing in some regions of the country due to adverse weather or a difficult flood situation. Thus, in the Republic of North Ossetia — Alania, due to the deterioration of weather conditions in the adjacent territory, since the evening of April 13, there has been a temporary suspension of traffic on the federal highway A-161 Vladikavkaz — Nizhny Lars — border with the Republic of Georgia in the direction of departure from the Russian Federation.
Since the morning of April 14, traffic on 144 km of the Nevelsk-Tomari—Shakhtersk Airport highway has been temporarily suspended in the Sakhalin Region due to the erosion of meltwater and the collapse of part of the roadway. In the Altai Territory, traffic on one of the regional highways was temporarily stopped due to flooding of the roadway by flood waters. In the Kurgan region, traffic on two regional highways was stopped for the same reason. In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the movement of buses and trucks on two regional highways is limited due to flooding of the roadway.
The State Traffic Inspectorate recommended that motorists, when planning long-distance trips in these and neighboring regions, monitor the weather forecast and media information from traffic closures or restrictions. In case of a negative forecast, you should temporarily refrain from using personal vehicles for long trips or plan routes in advance to safely avoid problematic areas.
"We draw the attention of drivers to the need for strict compliance with traffic regulations during the off-season. An increase in air temperature and its differences between daytime and nighttime values increase the risk of accidents on the roads due to melting ice, precipitation in the form of rain or sleet, as well as the resulting visibility restrictions. Motorists should be more careful, avoid dangerous maneuvers, observe the established speed limit, and increase the interval and distance between vehicles. Driver's discipline is especially necessary if there are child passengers in your car, who should be transported in compliance with all applicable safety requirements," Police Colonel Anton Belan, deputy head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and Prevention of Child traffic Injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, told Izvestia.
On April 9, it was reported that in the first three months of 2025, 24 thousand road accidents occurred in Russia, which is 1.9% more than in the same period last year. As a result of these accidents, 2.6 thousand people died (-0.8%), 30.6 thousand were injured (+1.4%).
