The Moskvich plant announced preparations for the launch of a new model.

The Moskvich automobile plant is preparing to start production of the Moskvich 8 crossover. This was reported on April 15 by the Telegram channel "Chinese Cars" with reference to the company's press service.

According to the channel, in March of this year, the first two Moskvich 8 crossovers were already registered with the State Traffic Inspectorate.

"We are preparing for the start of production," Moskvich said in response to a request for comment on the registration of cars.

The Moskvich 8 will become the fourth model of the revived brand, the announcement of the model's launch took place a year ago, in April 2024. Initially, production and the start of sales were planned before the end of that year, later the market launch was postponed to February 2025, but the official start of sales has not yet been announced. It is noted that the Moskvich 8 is a renamed Chinese crossover JAC Sehol X8 Plus.

The day before, it was reported that the Sollers group could assemble UAZ cars in Africa. This was stated by the general director of the automaker Nikolai Sobolev. The group has an interest in organizing assembly plants in other countries: first of all, we are talking about those regions that "correspond to the DNA of the UAZ brand," he noted.
