AvtoVAZ has launched a special version of Lada Vesta

Production of Lada Vesta cars in the manual version has begun at the Tolyatti plant. Certified equipment duplicates the functions of the gas and brake pedals, allowing people with impaired function of one or both legs to operate the car. This is stated in the message of AVTOVAZ, which was received by Izvestia on April 15.

In the cabin, to the left of the steering wheel, there is a lever that is mechanically connected to the pedals: when moving, the accelerator is driven on itself, and the braking system is on itself. This control scheme meets the current Russian requirements for special vehicles and is the most ergonomic, the company said. At the same time, the ability to operate the machine normally remains.

The supplier of the control system is the Tolyatti company "Hand Control", a partner of AVTOVAZ in the production of special vehicles since 2018. The model will be presented in sedan and station wagon bodies, it is equipped with a 1.6-liter engine with 106 hp in combination with a CVT.

The Vesta sedan with manual controls is offered in the Comfort package. The list of equipment for the launch version includes two airbags, an air conditioner, a stability control system, electric and heated mirrors, and more. The Vesta SW will be available in the Life version, which additionally includes height adjustment of the driver's seat, three-level heated front seats, cruise control, EnjoY multimedia system and multi-steering wheel.

The company also noted that AvtoVAZ will continue to produce Lada Granta with manual control, and for the first time such a system will be installed on cars with a liftback body. More than 2 thousand such machines have already been transferred to social services.

The day before, AvtoVAZ announced an increase in the level of robotics at the enterprise. New robotic welding systems are installed in the Lada Iskra welding workshop, which is ready for the start of industrial production. The main commissioning work has been completed.

On April 9, AvtoVAZ announced the complete restoration of technology in the former workshops of pilot industrial production (OPP) in Tolyatti. Previously, production of the VAZ-2123 SUV (which later became the Chevrolet Niva) began on it, and the assembly of Kalina and other models was being worked out.
