Intelligent transport system to be introduced in Tula region

The introduction of an intelligent transport system will begin in the Tula region. The corresponding decree was signed by the head of the regional government Mikhail Panteleev. Tulaavtodor will be responsible for the maintenance of the system.
TSN24 writes that for the first time the idea of creating ITS was voiced in 2020. It was planned to implement it by 2024, but later the dates were postponed to the end of 2025. At the same time, two additional stages were added. The Tula Region was included among the leaders among pilot projects initiated by the Ministry of Transport. She took the second place in the rating of projects.
The new platform will combine the transport technologies of the region. The goal is to make roads safer and more convenient. ITS will help reduce the number of accidents, improve traffic control, promptly inform drivers about the situation on the roads, and develop online fare payment.
Earlier it was reported that this year the municipalities of the Tula region will spend more than 250 million rubles on road repairs. The money will come from the regional budget. The bulk of the funds will be distributed among large territories.
