Witkoff reported on new forms of relations between the United States and Russia


US President Donald Trump's special Envoy Steven Witkoff shared his thoughts on possible new forms of relations between Russia and the United States.
According to him, cooperation between the two countries can be achieved through commercial ties.
"Partnerships lead to stability," Witkoff said on Fox News on April 15.
As for the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict, the special envoy said that there is a possibility of being on the verge of "something very important" for the whole world. He added that the talks discussed security issues and the rejection of Ukraine's intentions to join NATO.
On the same day, Witkoff announced that the United States was moving forward to conclude a deal with Russia to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. According to him, he held three meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Putin's meeting with Witkoff took place in St. Petersburg on April 11. It was clarified that the topic of the negotiations was aspects of the Ukrainian settlement. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, in turn, said before the start of the talks that the meeting between Putin and Witkoff was a good opportunity to convey to the American leader the point of view of the Russian side.
