Heavy rains flooded the roads of Makhachkala

Heavy rains flooded roads in Makhachkala. The April 15 footage is published by Izvestia.
"Cars don't drive because they're afraid of getting hit by a water hammer. Here we see a police officer who took off his shoes to overcome a water barrier," said correspondent Murad Magomedov.
The footage shows that drivers are moving slowly due to the high water level. The correspondent also noted that local residents cannot pass through, as even the sidewalks are flooded.
It is noted that wind gusts currently reach 7 m/s. Up to 65 mm of precipitation is expected on Tuesday, which will break the city's daily record since 1911. The rains will stop only on Wednesday evening, April 16.
So, about 100 mm of precipitation is expected in Makhachkala in two days, which is 526% of the April norm. This figure will exceed the monthly maximum precipitation since 1904, which stands at 94 mm.
On March 15, a fire started in the Akhtyn district of the Republic of Dagestan on a mountainside located 2 km from the village of Khryug. Later it was reported that the cause of the landscape fire in the Akhtyn district could be human error. On March 18, it became known that the area of the natural fire through which the fire passed was 22 hectares.
On April 6, employees of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations were able to localize the outbreak of a landscape fire. The extinguishing was complicated by strong winds, inaccessible terrain and the remoteness of the fires. On April 10, specialists eliminated a fire in the territory of the Levashinsky district.
