- The State Duma called for the removal of Callas after her call not to visit Moscow on May 9.

The High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs, Kaya Kallas, should be removed from office and brought to the international Tribunal of the United Nations (UN) after she urged not to visit Russia during the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. This was announced on April 15 by Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin.
"The head of the Kallas European Diplomacy has turned to threats. <...> she issued an ultimatum not only to the EU countries, but also to candidates who are discussing EU membership, demanding that they refuse to travel to our country during the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. Callas' statement is disrespectful to the memory of those who sacrificed themselves saving the world from fascism," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
Volodin stressed that the world, which was saved by the Soviet multinational people at the cost of 27 million dead lives, as well as the countries of the anti-Hitler coalition (the United States and Britain, who lost more than 800 thousand people), must always remember and honor their memory.
"We have to do everything for this. Politicians can be forgiven for making various mistakes, except for one — desecrating the memory of those who make us all live today. If it were not for the heroic feat of Soviet soldiers and officers performed 80 years ago, Europe would not exist," said the chairman of the State Duma.
On April 14, Callas announced that the unification countries would not participate in the May 9 parade in Moscow. She also warned that European officials who travel to Russia on May 9 will face "consequences." The head of the European Diplomacy clarified that the participation of EU candidate countries in the Victory Day parade is also undesirable.
Sergei Naryshkin, Director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, said on April 11 that Russia today, like 80 years ago, is waging a difficult struggle against the Nazi ideology emanating from Europe.
