The head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund called the meeting between Putin and Witkoff productive

Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), after watching an interview with Fox News channel by Stephen Witkoff, special envoy to the US President, noted on April 15 that the talks between the American representative and Russian President Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg had been productive.

"A productive meeting," he commented on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

He attached to the post a fragment of Witkoff's conversation with journalists, in which he noted that a new peace agreement on Ukraine could change relations between the United States and Russia and global stability.

"This peace agreement concerns five territories, but there are much more — security protocols, NATO, the fifth article. It's difficult, but we may be on the verge of something very important for the world, " said the representative of the White House.

He also added that at the moment there is a potential to change relations between the United States and Russia through commercial partnerships that will contribute to "real stability."

In addition, on Fox News, Witkoff added that the United States is moving forward to conclude a deal with Russia to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. He clarified that he had held three meetings with the Russian leader in total.

Putin's meeting with Witkoff took place in St. Petersburg on April 11. It was clarified that the topic of the negotiations was aspects of the Ukrainian settlement. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, in turn, said before the start of the talks that the meeting between Putin and Witkoff was a good opportunity to convey to Trump the point of view of the Russian side.
