Politico reported on Kiev's invitation to the EU heads of state on May 9th

The Ukrainian authorities have sent invitations to European leaders and senior officials to visit Kiev on May 9 to demonstrate "diplomatic unity" and distract attention from the Moscow parade on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. This was reported on April 14 by Politico, citing Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga.
"The government of the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, invited high—ranking European officials to Kiev on May 9," the article says.
Earlier, on April 14, the High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs, Kaya Kallas, said that the participation of the union countries in the May 9 parade in Moscow was not planned. Callas also said that European officials who travel to Russia on May 9 will face "consequences." She clarified that the participation of EU candidate countries in the Victory Day Parade is also undesirable.
Earlier, on April 11, Sergei Naryshkin, director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, said that Russia today, like 80 years ago, is waging a difficult struggle against the Nazi ideology emanating from Europe.
