Witkoff announced the United States' progress in the deal with Russia on Ukraine

The United States is moving forward to conclude a deal with Russia to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. This was announced on Tuesday, April 15, by Stephen Witkoff, the US President's special envoy for the Middle East.
"You used a very good word — planned. Yes, I'm sure," Witkoff said on Fox News when asked if he was sure a deal was coming.
According to Witkoff, he held three meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
As the diplomat pointed out, negotiations on Ukraine are currently at the stage of "something important."
"I think we may be on the verge of something that will be very important for the world in a global sense," he said.
The special envoy of the President of the United States also noted that there is an opportunity to rebuild relations between Russia and the United States through commercial partnership.
Putin's meeting with Witkoff took place in St. Petersburg on April 11. It was clarified that the topic of the negotiations was aspects of the Ukrainian settlement. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, in turn, said before the start of the talks that the meeting between Putin and Witkoff was a good opportunity to convey to Trump the point of view of the Russian side.
