The calculation of the TOR-M1 air defense system of the tank unit of the Center group of forces shot down a reconnaissance drone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Red Army area of the special military operation zone. This was announced on March 15 by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

"During combat duty, the crew of the TOR-M1 air defense system detected an enemy reconnaissance drone and escorted it. After confirming the target and the command to destroy, the servicemen successfully hit the UAV of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," the ministry said.

It is specified that the downed object was a Leleka drone. Guided missiles with a high-explosive fragmentation warhead were used to destroy it.

"We went to the battlefield, got on the first degree of combat readiness, found an aerial target, destroyed the target. Then they rolled up and went into hiding," said Ivan Ponomarev, head of the calculation of the TOR—M1 air defense system.
