- The Ministry of Defense showed footage of mine clearance in the border areas of the Kursk region

Russian military personnel of the 89th Guards Sapper Regiment of the North group of forces and volunteers of the Bars-Kursk unit continue to carry out tasks of mine clearance and destruction of unexploded ordnance in the border areas of the Kursk region. This was announced on March 15 by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
"During the final stage of the training, the volunteers began to mine the territories in practice under the guidance of experienced specialists," the ministry said.
Mine clearance will allow for further work to restore the civil and social infrastructure necessary to establish a peaceful life in the liberated settlements.
"While fleeing, the Ukrainian militants left behind mines, booby traps, tripwires and various types of ammunition, including from NATO countries," the Defense Ministry said.
Sappers destroy all dangerous objects found on the spot by detonating an overhead charge.
Earlier, on April 14, the Su-35S fighter completed the task of escorting aviation in the Kursk region. During the duty, the fighter covered the actions of the aircraft during air strikes on temporary deployment points and strongholds of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). After completing the task, the fighter returned to the airfield.
