The calculation of a 122-millimeter D-30 howitzer of the Tula Guards airborne unit destroyed the strongholds of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) with personnel and a field ammunition depot in the Kursk border area. This was announced on Tuesday, April 15, by the Russian Defense Ministry.

The ministry clarified that the scouts discovered the Ukrainian militants when they were pulling their units into a forest area. After that, the gunners received orders to destroy the targets. They inflicted a fire defeat on the AFU militants with the help of adjustments of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

"We shoot regularly and on a daily basis. From the moment of receiving the command, deploy the howitzer from 1 to 1.5 minutes. The howitzer is simple, easy to maintain, and easy to operate. The shells don't weigh much for her either, because the caliber is 122 mm," said the gunner of the howitzer with the call sign Cohabitant.

Every day, the gunners deliver precise strikes against exposed military installations, positions, fortifications, military equipment and manpower of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On April 12, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had lost more than 175 soldiers in the Kursk area during the day. They noted that the Russian army defeated formations of nine enemy brigades in the areas of Gornal and Oleshnya settlements, as well as enemy manpower and equipment in seven more settlements.
