Regular intake of several grams of creatine helps athletes to train and increase strength more effectively. This was announced on April 15 by Alexey Shishkin, an assistant at the Department of Rehabilitation, Sports Medicine and Physical Education at the Institute of Preventive Medicine at Pirogov University, in an interview with Gazeta.Ru».

"It increases phosphocreatine levels in muscles, accelerating ATP resynthesis, which improves performance during high-intensity exercise (for example, sprints, strength training). Creatine works as an "energy buffer" for muscles. During high—intensity exercise, such as sprinting or lifting weights, it accelerates the recovery of ATP molecules, the main source of energy for cells," the expert said.

This gives athletes who take creatine the opportunity to exercise longer and more effectively. By regularly consuming 3-5 grams of creatine per day, you can increase your strength by 5-15%. This element also helps to get less tired and gain muscle mass faster.

However, it also has minor side effects that occur with an overdose. It is also necessary to consult a doctor for people with kidney problems before taking it.

"Creatine remains a safe and effective choice for athletes, at a reasonable dosage that a doctor can prescribe after taking it," concluded Shishkin.

On April 11, doctor Bogatyrev named kidney-destroying foods. He noted that in the presence of renal pathologies, products with a high content of oxalates should be excluded. These include spinach, nuts, French fries, chips, sorrel, beetroot, bran, and chocolate. The andrologist also recommends limiting avocado consumption due to its high potassium content.
