Egypt predicts "positive shift" in negotiations on a cease-fire in Gaza

Egypt's efforts in mediation between representatives of Israel and the Hamas group had a positive impact and made possible an early cease-fire in the Gaza Strip. This was announced on April 14 by the head of the Egyptian State Information Service, Dia Rashwan.
"Thanks to the tremendous efforts of Egypt and Qatar, a positive shift will soon take place in the negotiations on Gaza," Al—Kahira al-Ikhbariya TV channel quoted him as saying.
According to the official, Hamas intends to agree to Israel's proposal soon, because it "understands how valuable time is now."
On April 9, it was reported that an IDF strike on a residential area in the northern Gaza Strip killed about 23 people. According to the Al-Ahly hospital, eight women and eight children were among the dead. It was clarified that the strike fell on a four-story building in the Shujaiya area. The Israeli military said the IDF target was a "high-ranking militant" of the Palestinian Hamas group.
