A powerful 5.0 magnitude earthquake was recorded in the Southern Kuril Islands. This was announced by the service on Monday, April 14. eqalert.ru .

The source was located 34 km from Yuzhno-Kurilsk at a depth of 10 km. Tremors with a force of up to 3.0 points were felt by residents of the Yuzhno-Kurilsk regional center on Kunashir.

At the same time, the tsunami alert was not announced.

The day before, an earthquake of magnitude 4.9 occurred in Kamchatka. It was noted that aftershocks of up to 4 points were felt in some areas of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Yelizovsky district and Vilyuchinsky city district.
