In Paris, a worker was killed and a visitor was hospitalized due to a nitrogen leak in a gym. This was announced on April 14 by BFMTV.

In 2023, at least 24 people died in South Africa due to a gas leak. It is specified that the faulty gas cylinder was in the yard of one of the houses. Everyone who was nearby died, including women and children. Investigators admit that nitrogen could be used for illegal mining.
On May 8 of the same year, more than 50 elementary school students in Japan were poisoned by a domestic gas leak. At least eight children were taken to hospitals.
