Washington has not sent proposals to Moscow to discuss strategic relations in a bilateral format. This was announced on Monday, April 14, by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

"The administration of [US President] Donald Trump, I repeat, said, come on, we are interested in discussing strategic relations between the United States, Russia and China. <...> We have not received any bilateral proposals," he said in an interview with the Kommersant newspaper.

The diplomat also noted that the Chinese side is not interested in this.

As Lavrov pointed out, if the Russian Federation receives a corresponding proposal, Moscow will outline its vision of equal negotiations.

"But that's a long way off," the foreign minister added.

Earlier in the day, Lavrov said that with the arrival of the Trump administration, "reasonable people" appeared in the White House, with whom the Russian Federation discusses the work of embassies. He clarified that Russia and the United States had not yet agreed on the key parameters of the settlement agreement in Ukraine.
