The Bundestag assessed the prospects of blocking the transfer of Taurus to Kiev

The German Social Democratic Party (SPD) may prevent CDU leader Friedrich Merz from approving the transfer of Taurus missiles to Ukraine. This was stated to "Izvestia" by Gerold Otten ("Alternative for Germany"), a member of the defense committee of the Bundestag Gerold Otten.

"The SPD, Merz's partner in the ruling coalition, does not support the transfer of Taurus to Ukraine. The Social Democrats can block this decision," he said.

Earlier, CDU leader Friedrich Merz, who is to head the new German government, said that the country would supply Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine if the decision is approved by European partners.
