At least 4.7 thousand hectares of orchards and vineyards may suffer from frosts. The National Union of Agroinsurers (NUA) told Izvestia about it, where they have preliminary assessed the consequences of bad weather for agricultural crops.

"In the risk zone are orchards, vineyards and berries insured on an area of at least 4.7 thousand hectares under existing insurance contracts with state support", - reported in the organization.

The press service of the association also noted that most of all plantings of fruit crops insured in the Krasnodar region - 2.1 thousand hectares. This includes 1.1 thousand hectares of vineyards, 0.7 thousand hectares of seed (apples, pears, etc.), 0.2 thousand hectares of stone (plums, cherries, etc.) orchards and 0.1 thousand hectares of berries.

In Crimea, 1.4 thousand hectares are protected by insurance, of which 0.9 thousand hectares are vineyards.

"Sharp cold and snowfalls are observed in the North Caucasus since the end of March, in the Kuban and Crimea - from the second week of April. Before the arrival of cold weather in this zone were noted warm and snowless winter, with temperatures in March up to +20 ... +25 degrees. Later, however, air temperatures dropped to negative values. There are facts of blossoming fruit trees going under snow", - reported in the National Union of Agricultural Insurers.
