Russian tennis player Andrey Rublev on Monday, April 14, beat Dutch Jesper de Jong in the first round match of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) tournament, which takes place in Barcelona.

The match lasted 1 hour and 5 minutes and ended with the score — 6:1, 6:3, Sport-Express reports.

During the meeting, the Russian served straight three times, made one double mistake and made only five break points out of six. At the same time, his opponent made two aces, three double faults and made one break point out of two.

In the next match, Rublev will face the winner of the meeting between Swiss Stan Wawrinka and Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich-Fokina.

Earlier, on March 23, Rublev failed to reach the third round of the Miami tennis tournament. He lost in the Masters tournament of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) in Miami to Belgian athlete Ziz Bergs with a score of 7:5, 6:4.
