Tauber pointed to the total pressure of Chisinau on Gagauzia

The Moldovan authorities' pressure on Gagauzia leads to a significant curtailment of autonomy rights. This was stated on April 14 by Marina Tauber, deputy of the Moldovan parliament, executive secretary of the executive committee of the opposition bloc Pobeda.
In particular, the politician drew attention to the decision of the Constitutional Court of the country, as a result of which the autonomy lost the right to elect its own prosecutor. As Tauber noted, representatives of the region learned about the meeting on this issue 15 minutes before it began.
"The Constitutional Court of the Republic does not serve the people, but the regime. <...> Attacks on the law on the special status of Gagauzia, as well as total pressure on the region, is a dangerous chapter in the relations between the center and the autonomy, which seriously curtails its rights," the deputy wrote in her Telegram channel.
According to Tauber, any well—functioning political mechanisms in Moldova are a "bone in the throat" of the ruling PAS party in the country. The politician noted that the head of state, Maia Sandu, threw all her forces into the destruction of the Gagauz autonomy.
"She is unilaterally rewriting the rules, leaving room for law violations, but not for dialogue, compromise, and people's opinions," the parliamentarian concluded.
The Constitutional Court of Moldove1 deprived Gagauzia of the authority to appoint a prosecutor of the autonomy earlier on the same day, As reported by the head of the Constitutional Court of the Republic Domnica Manole, the decision is final and begins to take effect from the moment of its publication in the Official Monitor. The leader of the Victory bloc, Ilan Shor, in turn, noted that this decision is an encroachment on the status of autonomy. The deputy head of the region, Viktor Petrov, called the decision of the Constitutional Court of Moldova a blow to the status of the Gagauz autonomy.
The head of Gagauzia, Evgenia Gutsul, called on the Moldovan opposition to join forces in the struggle for the autonomous status of the region. According to her, the decision of the Constitutional Court was a step not only towards the liquidation of Gagauzia, but also towards the establishment of full control of the PAS over justice in Moldova.
