Indonesia has expressed interest in developing sports jointly with Russia

Indonesia would like to develop athletics, weightlifting, gymnastics and hockey together with Russia. This was stated by the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports of Indonesia, Dito Ariotejo, following a meeting with Deputy Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Alexei Morozov, who visited Jakarta.
"Indonesia pays special attention to athletics, gymnastics, and weightlifting, and it would be nice if we cooperated with Russia. Ice hockey, basketball, and volleyball could also become good sports for both countries that could be developed together," RIA Novosti quoted Ariotejo as saying.
The minister noted that discussions were held with representatives of the Russian Federation on joint training and friendly matches. According to him, the two countries' basketball teams may hold the next joint match in August in Indonesia.
Ariotejo stressed that Russia was at the Olympics and dominated four sports in many categories, and Jakarta would like to learn from Moscow's experience.
Earlier in the day, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov announced that a free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and Indonesia would be signed by the end of 2025. He clarified that this also applies to such basic areas as energy, the supply and processing of petroleum products, liquefied natural gas (LNG), cooperation in the field of coal and aluminum, as well as other forms of cooperation.
