Since the beginning of 2025, more than 2.6 thousand stray dogs have been captured in the Moscow Region. The regional Ministry of Agriculture and Food announced this on Monday, April 14.

Work on trapping animals is carried out within the framework of the Trapping – Sterilization – Vaccination – Return program. It operates continuously.

According to the online publication Podmoskovye Segodnya, more than 2.6 thousand dogs have been captured and vaccinated in the region since January, and they can be identified by the tag on their ear.

As of March, attacks by stray dogs on people were recorded in 24 Russian regions. In the first few months of 2025, more than 30 people, including children, suffered from bites. This suggests that the problem of attacks by stray animals is still relevant.
