The earthquake was recorded 59 km from San Diego and 87 km from Palm Springs at a depth of 13.4 km. There are no reports of casualties or the threat of a tsunami.

An earthquake of magnitude 6.5 was recorded on April 13 off the coast of Tonga. It is specified that the seismic event was recorded at 20:03 UTC (23:03 Moscow time), 615 km southwest of the capital of the kingdom of Nuku'alofa, where about 22.4 thousand people live. The source was located at a depth of 262 km.
