The FSB has stopped a major drug supply channel in the DPR


Employees of the Directorate of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of the Russian Federation for the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) stopped the activities of a criminal group that was involved in organizing a supply channel for narcotic drugs in the region. This was announced on April 14 by the press service of the republican department.
"As a result of joint activities of the Russian FSB directorate for the Donetsk People's Republic and the military counterintelligence agencies of the Central and Southern military districts, the activities of a criminal group involved in organizing a distribution channel for narcotic drugs on the territory of the DPR were suppressed," the report says.
It is specified that the group of malefactors was engaged in the supply of drugs to the republic, packaging and distribution of narcotic drugs by bookmarks. In addition, the suspects were coordinated from Ukrainian territory. Currently, the FSB has detained eight defendants. It is noted that more than 23 kg of synthetic drugs were found in their homes.
Criminal cases have been initiated against the attackers under Part 3 of Article 30 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Preparation for a crime and attempted crime" and Part 5 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Illegal production, sale or transfer of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues, as well as illegal sale or transfer of plants containing narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances, or parts of them containing narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances."
The official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Irina Volk, announced on April 10 that the police had liquidated an underground laboratory for the production of the synthetic drug mephedrone, which operated in the Nevsky district of St. Petersburg. It was noted that more than 43 kg of the finished narcotic substance were seized from the premises. A 39-year-old man has been detained, who is accused of drug trafficking.
