"It is necessary to build social housing on a large scale and use non—exploited state assets," the deputy said in an interview with the "Paragraph".
The parliamentarian noted that with the current incomes of the majority of the Russian population, only free housing is affordable for many.
"So far, this is really applied only in the military-industrial complex, where it is necessary to keep workers from becoming couriers, and in large cities, for example in St. Petersburg," he concluded.

The head of state also pointed out that the issue of housing is one of the most sensitive and key issues in the life of every Russian, RT reports.
In December last year, Putin said that preferential mortgages had allowed for record-breaking housing construction. He recalled that the government is implementing a number of programs to support lending not only to citizens, but also to businesses. They mainly provide for subsidizing interest rates.
