The reason for the mass release of fish on Kurgan lake was a strong wind.

In the Petukhov district of the Kurgan region, hundreds of thousands of crucians washed up on the shore of a local reservoir. The reason could be a strong wind and a storm, Alexey Koev, head of the State Control Department for the Kurgan region of the Nizhneobsky TU Rosrybolovstvo, told <url>.

"In the last week, the ice on the lakes came off and there was a squall wind. Perhaps there was a storm on the reservoir. The whole mass of ice was moving in one direction, and the fish, since it was in a sluggish state, naturally followed the same direction with this whole mass. And there was a fish release to the coastal zone," Koev said.

Meanwhile, as the news agency clarifies, it is not completely clear which lake we are talking about. An eyewitness filmed the video of the mass death of fish, and now experts, with the help of hunters and fishermen from the Petukhov district, are trying to determine exactly where the reservoir is located.

According to Alexey Koev, in order to prevent the loss of fish stocks, the situation needs to be studied, it may require intervention.
