Death toll from building collapse during Bangkok earthquake rises to 41


The death toll from the collapse of the unfinished building of the State Audit Office (GSO) during the earthquake in Bangkok has risen to 41. This was reported by The Nation newspaper on April 14, citing Thai authorities.
"As of 10 a.m. on April 14, a total of 103 people had been confirmed as victims of the disaster. Four more bodies were found overnight, bringing the death toll to 41 and 53 missing," the newspaper reports.
According to the newspaper, despite the ongoing Thai Songkran New Year, emergency services continue to work at the scene.
On March 28, it became known about two earthquakes recorded in Asian Myanmar. Their magnitudes were 7.7 and 6.4. As a result of the disaster, 3,706 people died and 5,027 were injured in the republic.
The earthquake also affected neighboring Thailand, where it was assigned the third level of danger out of four possible. In particular, on the same day, an unfinished 34-storey GSU building in Bangkok collapsed under the influence of fluctuations. More than 80 people were trapped under the rubble.
