The Sollers Group can assemble UAZ vehicles in Africa. This was stated by the group's CEO Nikolay Sobolev.

"The CIS countries remain our traditional sales markets. At the same time, we are actively exploring the potentials of African markets, but at the moment it is premature to name specific locations," TASS quoted Sobolev as saying.

The automaker has an interest in organizing assembly plants in other countries: first of all, we are talking about those regions that "correspond to the DNA of the UAZ brand," he noted.

In April, the large-scale assembly of UAZ vehicles started in Cuba. The planned volume of production of Russian-made cars on the island after the enterprise reaches its design capacity will be up to 500 vehicles per year. The UAZ Patriot and Pickup models, adapted to the climatic and road conditions of the region, were the first to enter the assembly line.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that, as stated by Nikolai Sobolev, CEO of the Sollers Group, by the end of 2025, the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant plans to introduce updated UAZ Patriot and Pickup trucks with Russian units: diesel engine, gearbox and transfer case.

On April 9, it was announced that Sollers would invest over 16 billion rubles in the modernization of the UAZ site, with such an investment planned for the period from 2023 to 2026.
